Sr. Redempta Twomey, R.I.P.

Letter from Sr. Rose Gallagher, Magheramore, Wicklow.

Thursday, 27th February.

Dear Sisters,

Well our dear Redempta went home to Heaven at 1a.m. Thursday 27 February 2020 … what joy and gladness filled the room and our hearts that her wish had, at last, been granted…she would see God face to face and be in His embrace forever.

How happy her brother was to be with her and also her faithful friend, Sister- in-law, niece were so very happy to have had spent Redempta’s last day here with her. Redempta’s family members were so attentive – making that journey from Killarney so many times bringing her plants to brighten her room and tasty little morsels of family baking.

Our own Columban Sisters were there to interpret and anticipate Redempta’s every need in these final weeks – an attentive, quiet presence bringing a deep peace, strength and comfort to Redempta in her time of need.

We could say that Redempta’s path to heaven was paved with Psalms during the past two months … Psalms: prayed, sung, savoured, recited, repeated – a litany of praise and petition that supported Redempta on her last journey.

The Removal Service will be Friday 28th 5.30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass on Sat. 11.30 a.m. please God.

Redempta drew strength and courage from all your prayers, messages, cards and enquiries. She will now be a strength for us as we journey on filled with gratitude to God for blessing us with such a gift as Redempta was.

United with you all during these days as we prepare to say farewell to our beloved Redempta….                                                                                may she rest in peace.

from…..Sr. Rose and all the Sisters in Magheramore.
