“This morning we laid our beloved Sister Theresa to rest among our Columban Sisters and Fathers in our beautiful cemetery overlooking Lake Erie.  Despite the snow on the ground, there was no wind and we gathered comfortably for our prayers at the gravesite offered by Father Vincent McCarthy.  A pair of eagles, which Theresa had often watched over the years, flew along the shore as the coffin was lowered.
The chapel was full for the Mass of Christian Burial, a beautiful celebration of Theresa’s  life.  Father Peter Cronin, SSC, was the main celebrant, assisted by Fathers Vincent McCarthy and Thomas Walsh.  Father Cronin’s homily was based on the Gospel reading of John: 14: 1-6; unfortunately it isn’t available in a printed form.  I have attached a beautiful reflection from Sister Theresa’s niece, Mary and the reflection from her nephew, Bob Lindquist.
The Anniversary Room was the setting for a lovely meal for the Sisters, family and friends following the burial.  Thankfully, the weather allowed everyone to return home safely.
The numerous messages of sympathy from all over the world of the Columban Sisters, have touched us deeply.  Theresa belongs to all of us, and at such a time it is heartwarming to be so closely connected with each of you, even at such distances.
Heartfelt thanks to all who sent messages of sympathy and prayers.”
