REVIVAL GOSPEL CHOIR

“Life is not measured by the breath we take but

by the moments that take our breaths away”

The Revival Gospel Choir visited Magheramore, the Motherhouse of the Columban Sisters in Wicklow recently and left their audience overwhelmed as they sang a wonderful rendition of gospel songs, interspersed with other songs that were steeped in deep gospel values.

“From humble beginnings in 2005, the Revival Gospel Choir has continued to grow in strength and numbers over the years and currently have over 30 members rehearsing every week.

The choir are regular contributors in Arklow church services on the 2nd& 4th weekends of every month. They also sing at various services, fundraising events and concerts in the Arklow area and all over the county.

RGC choir recently featured in the RTE programme, Ministry of Faith and last year performed backing vocals for a CD released for the charity, Children in Crossfire.

A strong community spirit is fundamental to the ethos of the choir, who never claim to be a professional group but do, at all times, work hard, respect each other and most importantly, enjoy the music and have fun!  Plenty of mistakes are made……but there are lots of smiles to cover them up!!

Friendship and camaraderie are the cornerstones that make the Revival Gospel Choir the impressive group that it is.

The choir rehearses in Arklow Parish Hall every Thursday evening and are always interested in welcoming new members to either sing or play an instrument”.
