Online solidarity event with the people of Burma / Myanmar
Saturday 1st May, 7-8pm
Dear Friend of Burma / Myanmar,
Since the military regime in Burma / Myanmar staged a coup on 1st February 2021, over 750 people have been killed, many more injured and over 4,400 arrested. Despite this brutal military crackdown, the people of Burma / Myanmar continue to protest with enormous courage to restore democracy. On 1st May, which is International Labour Day as well as the 3-month anniversary since the coup began, Burma Action Ireland will host an online event on zoom to remember those killed and as a show of solidarity to the people in Burma / Myanmar and to the Burmese communities living in Ireland. This event will begin at 7pm and will be approximately 60 minutes in duration and will include contributions from special guests. An overview and update on developments in Burma / Myanmar will also be provided.
