Meet the Columban Sisters’ New Central Leadership Team

Columban Sisters’ General Chapter Leadershp Elections – May 2011

On Wednesday, 5 May,  Sisters representing the various countries where the Columban Sisters live and work gathered in St. Columban’s, Dalgan Park, Navan, Ireland for the opening of their Congregational  Assembly know as a General Chapter. This is a special meeting that takes place every six years.

This gathering was the final phase of a process that began over a year beore when the sisters met in small area and local groups to pray and reflect together on their life and mission.  The results of these reflections coming from many different cultures and from a wide variety of social and religious realities formed the agenda for what was discussed during the Chapter.

The task of the members of the Chapter, acting in the name of all the sisters, was to make decisions for the life and mission of the Congregation and set goals for the following six years. And in order to bring forward these goals, the sisters also elected a new Leadership Team to lead the Congregation forward over the next six years and until the next General Chapter in 2017.

And the results of the Columban Sisters’ Leadership Elections were as follows:
