Maura’s Memorial Garden is a place where all creation, flowers both wild and cultivated, song birds and pollinators find a home. The garden is also a place of stories where shrubs and flowers were gifted in memory of Sisters’ families gone to God.

When a new leadership team was elected Maura wished that this part of Columban history would be marked by the planting of a rose.  Maura had gone to rest before her promise to Sr Anne Carbon, our new Congregational Leader, was fulfilled.

Thankfully, her desire was honored on the feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz on the eve of our Congregation Centenary.  Many of the Sisters participated in this joyful, life giving event.

Now when we look at the rose bush we are reminded of Maura’s love of creation, our Congregation and the Source of Love, always life giving and showing beauty.
