The Columban Sisters in Magheramore, celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for the living and deceased members of our Sale of Work.

Sr. Rose Gallagher gave a warm welcome and profound message of gratitude to all present:
“On behalf of the Sisters here in Magheramore,it is my great joy to welcome you all our Sale of Work Friends, our ICA and Arts and Crafts Friends, and our own sisters
who have travelled to be with us.
Thinking about the many years the Sale of Work has been running, the image that came to me was that of a Marathon, not a mini-marathon, but one that has been run for no less than 90 years….
What an achievement!
And you who are gathered here today are the brave and bright bunch entrusted with running the last lap. You too can claim with St. Paul
“I have run the race, I have fought the good fight”.
Such thoughts, lead us to recall with immense love those who also ran the race – our deceased Sale of Work friends and helpers .
Let us ponder now with gratitude their beloved features and know the blessing of their presence with us again today, giving thanks in our Mass for them all.
It is customary, that along the marathon route participants are offered refreshments.
The refreshment offered us today is the Eucharist. Jesus Himself delighting in being our nourishment and our sustenance as we continue to share in His mission to the little ones of our world.”

Loving and gracious God, we give thanks that you watch over your people at all times.
We thank you specially today for gracing the Columban Sisters with faithful lay co-workers to assist them in their efforts of witnessing to your Gospel across the world.
We ask you to bless them for their fidelity in prayer and work during their years of co-operation with the Sisters, and to reward them with the gift of eternal life, through Christ our Lord.Amen
