It was surely a night for recalling memories and renewing old friendships. The occasion was the 80th birthday and 60th anniversary of Religious Profession of Sister Ana Maria Mulqueeney who has spend a great part of her life working in the parish of Santa María Del Carmen in Lima, Perú.
This special celebration was held on Saturday night, May 1, and was organized by friends of Sister Ana Maria who had worked with her in youth groups over the years.
The evening began with a Mass celebrated by the bishop of the diocese, Msgr. Lino Panizza accompanied by Frs. Diego Cabrera and Julio Saffra, both priests from the area.

It was a truly joyful occasion enlivened by the music of the choir and the participation of all those present.
After the Mass, everyone moved to the parish hall, beautifully decorated for the occasion. A short video recalled Sister Ana Maria’s pastoral work with the chapel, especially the youth. Then there was sharing by various individuals interspersed with songs and dances. A highlight of the evening was the appearance of a Mariachi group who serenaded Sister Ana Maria. And of course, there was food and lots of renewing of old friendships and recalling fond memories. The night ended with the various generations having photos taken with Sister Ana Maria. It was already Sunday before this wonderful night came to a close. It was surely a moment to give thanks to God for the gift of life and religious vocation and for having the privilege of sharing those gifts with the warm-hearted people who make belong to the parish of Santa Marie del Carmen.
