Tree planting projects : There has been on-going financial support to tree planting projects in desert and deforested areas of Gansu Province, China.
It has been four years since we began planting desert-grass in the desert. Over time, we discovered that in some areas, sand swept away by the wind prevented the trees from taking root. Therefore, this year, we decided to focus more on reinforcing areas where desert-grass had been planted previously, rather than starting new planting sites.
Considering the characteristics of the area situated near the desert, we decided to provide financial support again this year for the tree-planting project aimed at combating desertification. Together with the priests, sisters, and local parishioners of the area, we emphasized the importance of preventing desertification, planting trees, and nurturing them – it is a team effort.
Mother Nature rewards us for our hard work – the fruits of our labour now flourish!
