Sister Stephanie King Celebrates 50 Years as a Columban Sister

On July 9,   2005  Sister Stephanie King will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of her Religious Profession as a Columban Sister.

From a family of five girls in South Boston, Sister Stephanie, joined the Columban Sisters in 1952.  In 1955 she made Profession of First Vows.  and she was assigned to Korea soon afterwards.

During her  30 years on mission in South Korea she worked in Mokpo, Cheju, Chun Chon and Suk Cho.  In the 70's she spent three years working as a nurse in Saint Columban's-on-the-Lake Retirement Home in  Silver Creek, New York after which she returned to Korea.

In 1992, Sister. Stephanie returned  home to the United States. She now follows her calling at the Columban Sisters’ mission office in Brighton, Massachusetts.
