Sister Laurentia Harvey Celebrates 50 Years as a Columban Sister

On September 8, 2005, in a spirit of joyful thanksgiving,  Sister Laurentia Harvey celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her  Religious Profession as a Columban Sister.

A native of Cooraclare, Co.Clare, Ireland, Sister Laurentia joined the Columban Sisters on March 7, 1952 and made Profession of Vows on September 8, 1955.

She has spent most of her missionary life in Korea, so it was fitting that the celebrations be held in Mokpo where she is presently assigned.  In the city of Mokpo, South Korea,  Sister Laurentia  is the Administrator of  two centres - Sang Lee Social Welfare Centre and a  shelter of unwed mothers.
