Sister Lucia So celebrated 25 years
as a Columban Sister.

Sister Lucia So celebrated her Silver Jubilee with a thanksgiving Mass on Sunday, 24th August, 2008 in her home parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Tai Gu Lau. The chief celebrant was Fr. Dominic Chan, Vicar General of the Diocese of Hong Kong. Fr. Dominic is a former parishioner and life long friend of the So family. The Church was full to capacity with Lucia's family, relatives, many friends and colleagues, parishioners, Columban Associates as well as our Columban family brothers and sisters. The choir sang the Mass in Latin and the hymns were sung in Chinese and English. After the gospel Fr. Dominic invited Lucia to share what the vows meant to her over the past twenty five years, inspiring moments indeed for all present.

After the Mass and photos, all enjoyed a delicious Chinese banquet in a restaurant in Aberdeen complete with toasts and the cutting of the Jubilee and birthday cake. Live and lively entertainment followed with many of those present sharing the best of their talents especially Fr. Dominic Chan who is a great singer. This very happy, joyous and homely occasion coincided with the stunning closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
