Sister Mary David Mannion celebrates 50 Years as a Columban Sister

Sister Mary David Mannion celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her Profession as a Columban Sister on September 18, 2004.
A native of Milltown, Co. Galway, Ireland, Sister Mary David (Bridget Mannion), studied medicine in University College Galway and did Post Graduate Studies (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) in England before joining the Columban Sisters in 1952.   She made her First Profession of Vows in 1954.

Sister Mary David was assigned to Korea in 1955 where in the aftermath of the Korean War she and Sister Philomena O'Sullivan founded a clinic in Chunchon.

During her years in South Korea she  also worked in St. Columban's Maternity Hospital in Mokpo,  and St. Columban's n Clinic in Samchok.
Her Golden Jubilee Celebrations were at the Columban Sisters' Motherhouse, Magheramore, Wicklow, Ireland where Sister Mary David now resides.
