Columban Sister Bríd Kenny Celebrates Her Diamond Jubilee

On October 16, 2004 Sister Bríd Kenny celebrated 60 years as a Columban Sister.   The celebrations were held at the Motherhouse of the Columban Sisters in Magheramore Wickow, Ireland.
A native of Kilmurray McMahon, Ennis, Co. Clare, Bríd joined the Columban Sisters on April 9, 1942 and made First Profession of Vows in October, 1944.

Sister Bríd worked in the catering services at St. Columban's College Dalgan Park, Navan before being assigned to South Korea in 1960 where she was a founding member of the Weaving Industry in Hallim, Cheju Island with Sister Rosarii McTigue and Elizabeth Taaffe.
Sister Bríd also worked in various other ministries during her 44 years on mission in Korea.  She returned to the Motherhouse at Magheramore, Wicklow in 2004 where she is an active member of the community.
Her brother, Fr. Paul, who is also a Columban, recently celebrated his Golden Jubilee of priesthood and is presently continuing his mission in Korea.
