The convent  chapel was full with the Sisters’ relatives,  Columban Sisters and their friends. In all there were seven nationalities represented which gave the celebration a real missionary flavour.

Fr.  Pat Donohoe was the chief celebrant with Fr Brian Doyle, Elizabeth’s brother and Fr Austin Garvey, from Westminster Diocese, who had been on the Peru mission with the Columbans. The liturgy was a celebration on God’s faithfulness and love and with readings from Philippans and John’s gospel captured the spirit of the day. As always the choir sang beautifully.

Sister  Euphrasia lfrom Perú led the offertory procession as, dressed in a Peruvian costume, she gently danced up the aisle bearing a lighted candle.

The homily was given by Sister Redempta Twomey

Following the Eucharist all shared in a lovely meal prepared by the staff at the Motherhouse.
