Congratulations to Columban Sister JubilariansDIAMOND: Anna Tseng and Rose Dineen
|
It was with great delight that four of us celebrated our jubilees on April 25, 2012: Sisters Anna Tseng and Rose Dineen celebrated their Diamond Jubilees together with Corona Colleary her Golden and Virgie Mozo her Silver. The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated with the Columban Fathers: Peter Cronin, Thomas Walsh and Vincent McCarthy. The chapel was artistically arranged by YoonMi and Grace, while Mary and Corona and the staff adorned the tables in the new Anniversary Room where the reception was held. The Mass started with the brief story of our Congregation read by Sister Evelyn Frieder; this was followed by a procession led by Margaret Devlin and Margaret Holleran (with candles.) |
Fr. Thomas proclaimed the Gospel of Luke 1: 39 – 58 which was followed by Carmen’s homily. |
The Second Reading, from 1 Colossians 1: 12 – 20 was read in Tagalog by Grace.

The four Jubilarians, each of us holding our mission flags, represented our mission places. Anna, our most senior Jubilarian, was with Patricia who graciously assisted her in the procession. Following the homily, Carmen invited the four of us to renew our vows. The Prayers of the Faithful were read by Margaret Devine. At the Offertory, Mary presented the Globe, Ruth the Constitutions, Pat carried a Crucifix and the bread and wine were presented by Claire and Betty. The communion songs were “Lord You Have Come” (Pescador de Hombres) and Ave Maria (solo by Fran Page, the organist of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek). Before the final blessing, the prayer of St. Columban was recited. The Mass ended with the hymn “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” A reception for the invited guests followed with delicious finger food prepared by the staff of the Home. |
