| The Columban Sisters in
Pakistan:
The
Columban Sisters presence in Pakistan is of relatively recent
origin; they went there for the first time in 1990 to be
of service to the Christian Communities of the Diocese
of Hyderabad.
The Sisters, who live in two different regions of
the Sindh Province, see their apostolate as one of
Dialogue with Muslims and Hindus with whom they have
daily contact through their presence and their work
while at the same time being a support to the local
Christian Communities.
Through means of this, they hope that together
with others, a more just and caring society can be
created for all.
The
Sisters are involved in a variety of services:
education, pastoral visiting, literacy
programmes,
primary healthcare, and justice issues that strive for
the empowerment of the marginalized, particularly women.
