Launch of Mission Alive,  2006
 October 7,  2006

Launch of Mission Alive on the beach at Blainroe Golf Club  following a gathering prayer and procession in the grounds of Columban Sisters, Magheramore, Wicklow.

Mission Alive was set up in 2001 as an outreach programme of the Irish Missionary Union. It has organised schools and parish programmes as well as 'Festivals of Mission' during the month of October. October is traditionally known as the month of mission.

It  is an unique opportunity to express the true nature of the Church as a world-wide family united by a common faith, hope and love. It aims to focus on renewing our passion for the Gospel in today’s world, celebrating the contribution of Irish people to mission, opening up a dialogue on missionary themes and highlighting the changing face of Ireland as a multi-cultural society.
