Location:  China, the country with the highest population in the world, is located in Asia.  Its land mass takes up most of the Asian continent.

Religion:  The main religions of China are Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.  There are about 12 million Muslims and 20 million Christians living in China.

Language:  Most people in China speak Mandarin Chinese

Economy:  China is famous as an export economy.  At the present time, unprecedented development is taking place in China and it is becoming a leader in the field of technology.  

Columban Sisters:    For several years now,  the Columban Sisters have,  once again,  been involved in mission in China through witnessing to Christian values and giving service in:

• Training frontline workers in rehabilitation skills , with a particular focus on children.
  

• Contributing in the field of third level education through the teaching of English in collaboration with Chinese teachers.
