........... the Sisters report on the devastating earthquake which struck the country

Thank God, it is good to be alive...we thought it was the end of Chile...it was such a violent earthquake and lasted for so long at 3.34 a.m. Seven regions of the country are devastated...especially Concepcion,Temuco,Talca and many small towns..... Champa, Pintue, Buin and a lot of rural areas as well as Robinson Cruiso and many parts of Santiago Center,Villa Olympico,Barrio Yungay, and Qiunta Normal.

It was terrible not to be able to get in touch with Angela for hours... and neither metro nor buses were running. Angela still has no electricity so she phones me for the news updates.

It is terrible for the people who have lost everything facing into winter and for all those who are still on holidays and cannot travel back because so many bridges are down. We are prepared for another night of vigil. I know you will keep everyone in your prayers...God is over all and all will be well.
Affectionately,

Kathleen Mary

United in prayer and support for the Chilean people at this time
